The 15th Annual Coopers and Coffee has been re-imagined again this year. For this year, there will be a few changes in format, familiar and new places and a twist on a group drive you’re sure to enjoy!

We will meet at The Roasterie Cafe, 1204 W 27th Street in Kansas City, MO, anytime between 8:30 and 9:30 on Sunday, October 17th. Arrive at your leisure. There is no formal car show this year, but plenty of parking for MINI and Mini gazing before we depart. The cafe opens at 9 am if you’d like to grab a beverage or breakfast, use the facilities, browse the gift shop.

At 10 am, we will depart for a fun drive in smaller teams. You’ll get an email with your team name and team leader names a few days before the event, as well as where your team will start the drive. The drive stays in the city and includes a few fun stops along the way. The drive will end at Baron MINI where there are collection barrels for donations of supplies for each team (you are feeling a little competitive, right?)  and $$$ to Harvesters and KC Pet Project. At each location, you may donate items from their most needed items lists. The drive will end between 12 Noon and 1 PM. Harvesters wish list is here, KC Pet Project’s list is here.

THE DETAILS
Registration: Instead of paid registration this year, we will have free event registration and a $$$ donation box at the start and end points. In the past, registration has been $15 per car. If you can swing it, please plan to donate accordingly. The last couple of years have been especially challenging for both of our non-profit partners and they could use our cash. You can donate by cash or check, your choice of KC Pet Project or Harvesters, or split between the two and share the love!

The Drive: Registered cars will receive an email a few days prior to the event with your team name, as well as who your team leaders are and a starting point for your team to begin the drive. As our club grows, it has become more challenging for everyone to safely depart at once and stay together on a route. This year’s drive takes that into consideration, with smaller teams leaving for the drive from a point very close to the Roasterie and making a few fun stops along the way.

T-Shirts: More Info Soon… Shirts will be available with this year’s logo and will arrive after the event.

Stickers: Stickers with this year’s logo will be available at the event for a donation to one or both of our non-profit partners. Bring cash, support good causes in our own community!

KC Pet Project Wish List: The Shelter’s wish list is here. Their most wanted items are always canned dog food, especially Nutro and Wellness brands and peanut butter with no xylitol added. If you’d like to have items shipped to KC Pet Project instead of donating the day of Coopers and Coffee, they have an Amazon Wish List.

Harvesters Wish List: Harvesters Wish List is here. Canned vegetables, peanut butter, canned tuna, chicken and salmon are always in high demand.

Questions? Please ask on the KC MINI Forum or you can drop Johnna an e-mail, perry.johnna@gmail.com. As questions come in, they will be added to the FAQ below, too!

FAQ

Is there a car show at The Roasterie? The Roasterie has not returned to hosting Food Truck Brunch, the companion to our annual car show, just yet. We are making the best of it with opportunities to show-and-shine your MINI or Mini both before and after the group drive this year. Slightly less formal than a car show, still loads of fun!

Will there be a food truck at the beginning of the drive? The cafe at The Roasterie opens at 9 for beverages, pastries and light snacks. There are restrooms inside as well. On the group drive, there will also be an opportunity to grab a snack or treat along the route.

Do I have to register? Please do. It is helpful in creating teams for the group drive as well as letting the organizers know how many to expect and have adequate supplies.

Is this a pet-friendly event? Absolutely. If there is one thing Miniacs love as much as their cars, it’s their fur friends. Pets are welcome outside at the starting point and also at the end point of the drive.

Should I bring a two-way radio? Sure! Your team leaders will choose a channel that works for all who have radios at your group drive starting point.

My group drive team is going to collect SO MANY items for Harvesters and KC Pet Project. Is there a prize for the team who collects the most items? YES! You’ll get bragging rights for the entire year! In all seriousness, no actual prize, but a MINI-load of gratitude for helping feed hungry people and pets in our city.
