For the benefit of any new KCME members, these events are held at the Heartland Park, Topeka road race course and provide participants the opportunity to drive their own street legal cars on the road race course. There are novice, intermediate and expert levels. The event is well-organized and has instructors (more or less) who tag along with novice drivers who teach track & car basics. There are corner marshals and medics on hand. This is not a crazy free-for-all for speed freaks. There are rules, driver's meetings, etc., which are observed, which allow for a safe environment. In previous years we've had up to 10 members out there zooming around in our MINIs. These are not competitive nor are they timed. Each participant drives at their own level of comfort/skill.
